Ventura Film Festival Bringing International Cinema to Ventura County

The Ventura Film Festival has earned recognition as "the largest film festival ever held in Ventura County." This exceptional status highlights the festival's commitment to presenting varied film content to regional audiences while preserving its dedication to vital ecological concerns.

The Ventura Film Festival exists as an unrestricted genre international film festival that generates attention toward environmental issues such as terrestrial and aquatic preservation and renewal, by means of a yearly cinema celebration and connected programs. The festival utilizes the power of cinema to motivate engagement and develop substantial discourse on these pressing environmental challenges.

The Ventura Film Festival was established in 2004 and has exhibited numerous cinematic works, typically more than 200 films every summer, and has drawn recognition from the worldwide filmmaking community. The founding executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was selected to take part, together with many of Hollywood's biggest stars, in the half-century commemoration of West Side Story and Hollywood's famous footprint/handprint ceremony recognizing Academy Award winners Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and Golden Globe recipient Russ Tamblyn at the historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This occasion also served as the official BluRay debut by Fox and MGM of the classic West Side Story, which is broadly regarded by critics and fans as the best musical of all time.
